Geoda de Pulpí

About 1h15 minutes away is the Geoda de Pulpi, a gigantic beautifully translucent geode. The largest geode in the world !

A geode is a sedimentary rock that is more or less spherical in shape and covered on the inside with crystals. While most geodes are between 2.5 and 30 cm in size, this one is no less than 8 meters long and 2 meters wide. An extraordinary natural phenomenon!

Because of its great fame it is strongly recommended to order tickets in advance for the guided tour of about an hour and a half through this very impressive mine. More info can be found here.
